Aylin just wants to study for her rapidly approaching licensing exam, but instead she has to investigate the origin of a mysterious gift that may be tied to a potential poisoning. Shenanigans ensue. This takes place about six months before The Night Chemist kicks off, so it's an opportunity to see Aylin while she's still studying in the caliphate. (and it was a lot of fun to incorporate a bunch of alchemy)
