Melissa Gobnait, was currently between jobs. She was an over-educated young woman who had a passion for ancient history, archaeology, philology, anthropology, and eastern religious studies. She discovered post-graduation, that her degree offered few opportunities. This required her to relocate often, taking any job that was remotely adjacent to her areas of expertise.
On a whim, she spent the remainder of her savings on a cruise whose route terminated near her next posting. Things would go terribly wrong, or perfectly right, depending on how you choose to see it. But she would never reach the end of her journey. It would change her life in ways she could never imagine.
