In the vibrant coral reef city of Geechmobo, off the coast of the Gullah Geechee islands, Destiny has built a safe, predictable life as a dedicated RobMersa compounding medicinal reef crops. She thoroughly understands the practical logic of science, but her overactive premonitions keep bombarding her with late-night choreographic dreams she cannot escape. When she finally gathers the courage to step into her true calling as a CarvMersa and AlvMersa, the social currents instantly turn murky. Her charming but insecure Mersa Mate, Mark, launches a petty smear campaign that leaves her independent soft launch event completely empty. Faced with public humiliation, Destiny must decide whether to retreat to the safety of her pharmacy lab or trust the ancestral rhythm guiding her spirit. With the help of an unexpected agency offer from Tevin's Talent Tree, she might just find the strength to stop running from her gifts and fully claim her place in the reef. Drifting Into Destiny is a cozy, slice-of-life fantasy short story about creative resilience, overcoming self-doubt, and ancestral magic in the Afro-Fantasy world of The Geechmobo Reef Series.
