Olivia thought she knew the man she had just buried, but she was wrong: Charles had told her he had no family, no history, and no reason to fear the past.

He lied

Widowed, pregnant, and with nowhere else to turn, Olivia takes her son and what's left of her life to Blackheath House. The place Charles had been fleeing from all his life.

There at Blackheath House, in the middle of the moors, something watches from the dark, and the shadows linger a moment too long. Something that had been here long before.

Charles ran. Olivia can't.
