In 1492 Granada, Spain, Alegra, a stunning Sephardic Jewish woman, and Diego, a charismatic Catholic nobleman, risk everything for a love the world forbids. When the Edict of Expulsion is issued and the Spanish Inquisition tightens its grip, Alegra faces a prearranged marriage to Ricardo, the man set to inherit her family’s business. With conversion, expulsion, or death as the only options, Alegra and Diego must survive religious persecution, the challenges of interfaith love, and Alegra’s grief for the life she envisioned for herself. Drawn together against all odds, will their connection defy an empire, or will history tear them apart?
