Donvar and Kelvric joined the Standing Guard of the Imperial Corps, hoping to escape the endless toil of peasant life. Drawn by promises of adventure, steady pay, and a chance to see the Empire beyond their humble beginnings, they imagined a life far removed from the fields they left behind.

Instead, they find themselves stationed near home at Camp Nowarawat, a perpetual training camp where the days are long, the drills are endless, and real adventure seems little more than a distant dream.

That is, until a Captain of the Royal Guard arrives with orders for a patrol.

For Donvar and Kelvric, it may finally be the opportunity they've been waiting for. But life beyond the training grounds may prove far different from the adventure they imagined.
