A corrupt oil company exploits a distant resource with little concern for the indigenous population. After a brief, violent altercation, the members of the survey team return to their countries, but they bring with them a deadly, rapidly evolving plague.

The sudden illness sweeps through the towns and cities at unfeasible speeds, baffles scientists and medical professionals. People go about their lives, unwittingly spreading the virus, allowing it to mutate at every turn. What starts with a small itch drives the victim to the brink of insanity.

Can a cure be found? Can the world be saved, or is it already too late?
