When the cops won’t even look at the dodgy but disturbingly attractive drifter who’s moved into her motel, Patti Ingram picks up her magnifying glass to catch the burglars herself.

Undercover insurance investigator, Dan Griggs, gets the shock of his life when the crime boss he’s supposed to unmask is a pretty twenty-something with a daft dog and a sweet mum who sings like an angel.

Patti will fight police, sleazy real estate agents, suspicious odd-job men — anyone who takes on the Ingrams because that’s her job since her beloved dad died in jail.

Dan’s got a battered reputation to retrieve.

When the next robbery ends in murder, Dan and Patti’s brother are the prime suspects.

If Dan and Patti can’t work together, both their lives will be ruined.
