Ever since Siri and Geena left their beloved ship to stay on Semerde with Leo and Jase, they’ve been making every effort to immerse themselves in the culture.

Geena has become an enthusiastic music teacher at the local schools, and her heart is set on adopting one of the students. Jase wants to think that means Geena will stick around for a long time. But he can’t help wondering if her wanderlust will return when her parents come to visit.

Although Siri is enjoying life on the farm with Leo, she misses her dad, who’s serving his sentence on Onepus. Getting a surprise call from her estranged mother is a curveball she didn’t need, and it makes her question staying so far away from them both.

The annual Festival of Lights is around the corner—Leo and Jase hope it’s just magical enough to convince Siri and Geena to stay on Semerde for good.
