Courage isn’t slaying the dragon — it’s trusting one.

When a dragon circles the castle towers in visible distress, nine-year-old Julius Aquilas knows something is wrong. This is no marauding beast. This dragon is his friend.

But helping a dragon is no simple task.

Standing before a cavernous mouth lined with dagger-sharp teeth, Julius must master the one thing more powerful than fear—compassion. The dragon’s thunderous roar has become a haunting whimper. Whatever is causing the pain lies deep within those massive jaws. To save his friend, Julius must do the unthinkable: place his own head inside the dragon’s mouth.

What he discovers will test his courage, loyalty, and quick thinking in  ways he never imagined.
