The beautiful Chinese girl, Song, has disappeared.   jinni, the owner of the Purple Orchid nail salon is distraught.   Song is not only an excellent manicurist but also has been her lover, sharing not only her daily work but also her bed.
Just as she begins to lose hope, Jinni is joined by Song's father Ryan, a Chinese professor, who employs a private detective to find Song.
However Ryan knows nothing of his daughter's affair with the much older Jinni, and things are complicated by Song's illegal status in the USA  and by events which surround her hiding place.
