The summer of 1935.  A young James Valentine pursues his cousin, Clarissa Wyvern, to Munich. Clarissa is the black sheep of the Wyvern clan, dishonouring the family name by joining the British Union of Fascists. She wants nothing less than to capture the heart of Adolf Hitler, in the belief that doing so will prevent war between England and Germany. 

But when Clarissa goes missing, it appears that she has fallen victim to the serial killer known as the Vampire of Munich.
