Scarlett King plans to dump her wealthy boyfriend. Then he proposes in a busy restaurant in front of the server and half of London, and Scarlett does what any sensible British woman would do. She says yes. To make matters worse, Peregrine buys a Regency house in Putney that Scarlett falls in love with on sight. Unfortunately, the house comes with suspicious vibes and a very real-seeming voice that isn’t Peregrine’s. Upstairs, Scarlett meets an absurdly handsome man, effortlessly posh and dressed like it’s the 1930s. He claims he’s been waiting for her for years and seems to know far too much about her life. Is he a figment of Scarlett’s imagination, a ghost with good taste, or a glimpse of something that doesn’t obey the normal rules of time? Time-Travel Taster is a short bonus story set in Scarlett King’s time-travel world. It can be read as an extra glimpse into Scarlett’s early adventures, but it isn’t required reading for the main series.
