In a hive-like city managed by a corporation, where you must opt-in to the terms of service to get a job and apartment, your every move is tracked, your words recorded, and your days are planned. After climate disasters, plague and war, opting-in seems the only choice. But outside of the hive, a collection of stubborn people help each other in a semblance of the old American civilization, trading for food, water and the necessities of life. The corporate security team is ever-present, however, patrolling the streets and crushing any hint of rebellion. For Leah and Abel, privileged teenagers on the verge of falling in love, life is good until they realize that the corporation has other plans for them. To be together, they must disobey their parents and somehow escape their world. But the A.I. tracking them, which knows all their secrets, will not be easily fooled. Their only hope is to connect with The Collective, the resistance group trying to overthrow the corporation and restore civil liberties. All they have to do is pull it off the impossible to find a new life.
