Blake Thatcher and I have been best friends ever since we decided to fingerpaint the walls of our Kindergarten classroom when Mrs. Humphreys went to the little girls’ room. Over the years Blake and I shared everything from our lunches to our algebra homework; we laughed at each other’s jokes, cheered for each other’s teams, and celebrated our graduations from high school and college. I just kind of figured we’d always be best friends. So when we’re at a party with our new significant others and Troublemaker Tom asks why the two of us never dated, why does it feel like our friendship is suddenly over?
