Life as a free space mutant - genetically altered to withstand the rigors of life in space, designed to be obedient to the norms who keep them as slaves on their cruisers and carriers - doesn’t leave her much time for flights of fancy. Scavenging junk ships for supplies and running from the enforcers keep Tri, and her fellow space muts Ebony and Hazel, focused on enemies she can see and shoot.
But when Tri suggests they check a ghost ship for food, she realizes there are more things in space than she’s ever imagined.
