After getting a job at Greenhouse Antiques, Jean's old textbooks aren't helping much with #adulting.  For example, she can't understand the Spanish artist who makes sculptures out of recycled materials.  He appears to take a particular interest in Jean, but she feels like she's missing something.  Meanwhile, he's reading her like an open book, and it leaves Jean feeling... bewildered. 

Ancient Greek philosophers don't provide a lot of context for attractive Spanish sculptors.
