A chance to work at one of the most prestigious neoclassical hotels overlooking the Ionian Sea of breathtaking Corfu is a dream come true for Sophie: a young career-driven woman who swoons about the past and what life at the grand hotel would have been like back in the day. All is going well for her as an assistant hotel manager until a mysterious and suave male guest captures her attention in a similar fashion as the alluring sea often does with its mesmerising and somewhat beguiling beauty. Sophie’s life, coincidentally, veers off the path she desires, and her “bygone daydreams” begin to work against her. In an ironic twist, her daydreams may not merely sweep her back into the past for the glamour and glitz she craves—they may sweep her into a past that is detrimental in unravelling a mystery in her present life … which in turn may also be instrumental in steering her future. An enchanting, yet poignant short literary tale for readers who love spectacular sea views, and a cosy mystery in an exotic hotel.
