Beverly is sixty-eight, widowed, and has never been a good girl. She only agrees to attend a hockey game to be a good grandma. Oskar Nystrom, a badly behaved, handsome Swedish player, lands himself in the penalty box directly in front of her.

One shouting match through the glass later, Beverly finds herself in a sexual rivalry with a man who is every bit as stubborn and competitive as she is.

Their games quickly move off the ice, and neither of them is willing to give up control. Beverly has finally met a younger man who might be able to keep up with her.
