When college student Evan Mallory receives a cryptic email from an administrative office he’s never heard of, he assumes it’s a mistake. But every attempt to trace its origin leads him deeper into a maze of contradictions, redactions, and polite non‑answers. No threats. No drama. No danger. Just a quiet, persistent uncertainty that refuses to resolve. The Notice is a standalone short story exploring the fog between institutional procedure and personal reality — a glimpse into the subtle tension that arises when systems speak in half‑sentences and people are left to fill in the rest. Perfect for readers who enjoy atmospheric fiction, procedural ambiguity, and the unsettling calm of unanswered questions.
