Guinevere entered the contest for the Eirathan throne expecting to face danger, deceit, and death. Upon the defeat of her party's nemesis, victory should have been within reach--she should have been crowned queen of the realm. Instead, the Stewards branded her and the Champions of Diana as treasonous vagrants for refusing to bend the knee to them, the usurpers of the throne. Stories tell of great kings who shaped the Eirathan Empire, of those who maintained order and defended the kingdom from would-be invaders. Guinevere's name might never be written into the histories and legends. She might not be remembered as anything more than the leader of a quaint rebellion. But the Stewards are wrong if they think she'll roll over and let two pencil pushers who've never lifted a sword in their lives steal the throne without a fight. Death seems certain. They're rebelling against the leaders of the kingdom, after all. But as it turns out, Guinevere and the Champions of Diana have earned themselves more friends than enemies in their adventures so far. Working with allies and frenemies they'd rather kill than cooperate with, breaking the tyrannical rule of the Stewards just might be possible. ...even if Guinevere doesn't agree with the coalition's choice of king.
