In 1960s New York, go-getting adman Leap Hamilton has just one worry: persuading clients to move with the times—until he finds himself stranded in Elizabethan England. Earth’s future leader forces Leap to sell a million dollars’ worth of sneakers in the past before he'll be allowed back to his own time. In a world with no television or radio, where even walking down a road is an obstacle course, and where everyone is pretty much drunk by noon, Leap will have to use all his advertising skill to sell goods from the future to the merry Englanders of 1588 so he can reach the target and return home to his wife and child. Unfortunately, things are not so simple. The time-portal is wrecking the continuum. Glitches flare up and down the time-line, and the world could end tomorrow. Or yesterday. For that reason, the galactic authorities have sent their second best agent, the alien symbiote Veers, to destroy the portal at any cost. If that happens, Leap will be stuck in the past forever...
